Perinatal Mental Health Basics for Non-Mental Health Providers

You know some of the families you work with are having a tough time, but you’re just not sure how to address the concerns. Whether it’s a mom who seems to be worried about her baby all the time, or a pregnant mama who just can’t commit to thinking about what happens after baby is born. You care deeply about these families and ill equipped to get them connected with the emotional support they need. If this sounds familiar, this training is for you.

Join us for a brief and informative training for chiropractors, birth and postpartum doulas, lactations consultants, physical therapists, and other providers working with families in the perinatal period. This training will help you discern the difference between the normal challenges of pregnancy or postpartum and what may be a perinatal mental health disorder. Review specific PMHDs, risk factors, how to have support families in your practice, and how to make a referral if/when necessary.

Stephanie Risinger, LCMFT specializes in perinatal mental health, has 15 years of clinical experience, and over a decade of experience working with women and families in various reproductive stages. She has complete a Certificate Training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders with Postpartum Support International, as well as Advanced Training in Perinatal Mental Health.
